Rural and charming, this home is part of a historic finca surrounded by ancient olive groves. Sharing its enormous pool with just two other homes, and boasting communal gardens with all sorts of quiet seating spots, as well as a private courtyard for barbecues, it's the perfect family home for a relaxing break in the country. Here you'll be at the foot of the Sierra María - Los Vélez Natural Park, with incredible views of the mountain range. Inside, this home is bursting with traditional Spanish character, with everything from terracotta floor tiles and shuttered windows to a brick fireplace and antique farmhouse furnishings. With small balconies upstairs so you can gaze across the grounds to the mountains each morning, it's a pretty dreamy place. What sets this home apart is its setting on a farm. With a rustic, authentic feel, the pace of life slows right down here as the business of producing olives and almonds goes on as it has for hundreds of years. Explore the lush gardens and you'll find persimmon trees, oranges, grapevines and figs. And while you'll be nestled far from the madding crowd, you'll have historic villages and towns within an easy drive too. Vélez Rubio and Vélez Blanco are both around fifteen minutes away by car, with Lorca further afield at around fifty minutes and the coast around an hour away.

None are more striking than Ronda, where a deep gorge cuts through the centre, bridged by the famous, multi-layered viaduct. Hiking along Ronda’s dramatic gorge is just one of the many walks that take in the natural beauty of the region. Pathways over rugged hills, past...
